Several of the Centre’s faculty affiliates have research interests located in Africa. Ito Peng’s Care Economies in Context has two African country cases: Kenya and Senegal. In addition, Laura Bisaillon has ongoing research in Ethiopia and Erik Schneiderhan has research in South Africa.

Asia and Australia
The Centre for Global Social Policy has long had expertise in the Asia Pacific region. The Gender, Migration and the Work of Care (archived) project had teams focusing on Australia and Oceania, China, and South-East Asia. Ito Peng’s current Care Economies in Context project has country cases in Korea, Mongolia and Sri Lanka. Other faculty members with research interests connecting to Asia and Australia include Erik Schneiderhan and Melissa Milkie.

Europe
Comparative studies and studies focusing on international governance often have a European component to them. This was the case for the Gender, Migration and the Work of Care project. Faculty members whose work involves Europe include Ito Peng and Prentiss Dantzler.

Latin America
Latin America has seen a number of intriguing developments in social policy in recent years. Ito Peng’s Care Economies in Context has two Latin American country cases: Colombia and Costa Rica. In addition, Latin American immigrants are a significant part of the research enterprise for some of the researchers, like Cynthia Cranford, whose work focuses on migrant care work in North America.

Because the Centre is located in Toronto, Canada, most of the researchers affiliated with the Centre conduct at least some of their research among Canadian and US populations.
