Kim Pernell is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Sociology. She teaches in the areas of social policy, economic sociology, and organizations. Her research examines national systems of financial regulation in comparative and historical perspective, drivers of excessive bank risk-taking, and how the recent transformation of the financial sector has impacted the experiences of households, families, and small businesses in North America and around the world.
