Annamaria Simonazzi is Professor of Economics, retired from Sapienza University of Rome, Italy. She is Expert Councilor of CNEL (Consiglio Nazionale dell’Economia e del Lavoro) and Scientific Director of the Giacomo Brodolini Foundation, editor of Economia & Lavoro and member of the editorial board of the web magazine inGenere. She has published widely on European macroeconomic issues, industrial policy, employment, welfare and gender economics. Her latest book Crisis in the European Monetary Union: A Core-Periphery Perspective, written with Celi, Ginzburg, and Guarascio, analyses the European crisis from a centre-periphery perspective and has been translated in Spanish (La crisis de la eurozona. La brecha entre el norte y el sur de Europa, RBA Libros, 2018) and in Italian (Una unione divisiva, Il Mulino 2020).
