Althea D. Anderson is a Program Officer in Gender Equity and Governance at the William and Flora Hewlett Foundation. Althea is a social scientist with expertise in examining the intersection of gender, inequality, and health. She is responsible for grants to support research, advocacy and programming that aim to expand women’s reproductive choices, economic opportunities, and social well-being. Althea has published and lectured on gender and sexuality, social norms change, intersectional approaches to the study of inequality, and qualitative research methods. She holds a bachelor’s degree in social welfare from the University of California Berkeley, a master’s degree in public health from the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill, and a doctorate degree in sociomedical sciences from Columbia University.
