Laura holds a Master’s in Social Work from the Federal University of Pará with emphasis on social work, work, and social policies (Former Scholar of the Organization of American States, OAS). She has degrees in Social Work and Law from the University of Costa Rica, and she is a specialist in sustainability policies with a gender focus.
Since 2018 she has worked at the University of Costa Rica, and during 2023 she was Coordinator of the Interdisciplinary Program of Studies and Social Action on the Rights of Children and Adolescents (PRIDENA-UCR). She is currently a professor of social policy analysis at the School of Social Work and responsible for the Strategy to Strengthen Public Education at the Vice-Rector’s Office for Social Action, UCR.
