In an opinion piece for Canada’s National Observer entitled “Canada can play a role in solving the global water bankruptcy”, Medha Bhushan argues that worsening water scarcity, driven by climate change, disproportionately affects women, girls, and Indigenous communities. She contends that Canada’s current policies fall short and calls for a feminist, equity-focused approach at home and abroad to ensure sustainable water management and protect vulnerable populations.

Medha Bhushan is a dual-degree MPP & MGA candidate with Sciences Po’s School of Public Affairs and the University of Toronto’s Munk School of Global Affairs & Public Policy. Her background includes a specialization in social policy and global development, and she is particularly interested in research that explores the intersection between climate change and inequality in resource-constrained contexts. She works as a policy research assistant at the Global Strategy Lab, AMR Policy Accelerator, based in York University.
