April Updates from Prentiss Dantzler

Updates include report, media hit, call for papers, award, and social content

CGSP affiliate faculty member Prentiss Dantzler is also director of the Housing Justice Lab.

Following the release of its recent report in partnership with the Somali Centre for Culture and Recreation, the Housing Justice Lab hosted a hybrid event, entitled “Holding Space: Investing in Black Social Infrastructure” on Thursday, March 26, 2026. The report is live on the website.

Prentiss Dantzler was quoted in recent article on affordable housing policies in Burlington Local News.

Prentiss Dantzler, along with Akira Drake Rodriguez (University of Pennsylvania) and Rashad Williams (University of Minnesota), have released a call for papers for an upcoming special issue of Metropolitics entitled “Governing Repair,” which will be focused on the role of cities and states in reparations policy.

Prentiss Dantzler won the Best Reviewer Award for the Journal of Race, Ethnicity and the City.

With support from the Housing Justice Lab, the Kensington Market Community Land Trust launched a series, The People, Places, and Legacies of Black Kensington, on Instagram with two recent posts: Caribbean Corner (February 19th) and The Jamaican patty and the ‘patty wars’ (March 5th).
