On September 25, Kayla Benjamin and Dr. Erica Di Ruggiero co-presented “Caring for the Caregiver: An Intersectional Analysis of Caregiver Policies in Canada”. They shared their preliminary findings analyzing caregiving policies at both the federal level and across six Canadian provinces, with a specific focus on support for unpaid caregivers. They concluded that the current patchwork of caregiving policies in Canada inadequately supports unpaid caregivers and offered policy recommendations to promote a more inclusive, accessible, and equitable care system.
The recordings of the presentation and Q/A session are now available in both English and Spanish. You can watch them here or on our YouTube channel.
Please request permission from the co-presenters to cite these preliminary research findings.
