The Carework Network has recently announced the Visionary Care Studies Award. The prize seeks to recognizes an outstanding graduate student paper in care studies. The judges will choose the winning paper based on: the significance of the research/pedagogical questions posed; the quality/rigour of the research; the contributions to carework understandings and innovation; the expansion of knowledge or representation for underrepresented groups; and the overall writing quality.
The committee is accepting submissions that are either original research or pedagogical in nature. The article may be accepted for publication or published within the last three years (2022, 2023, 2024); a paper presented at a professional meeting; or a paper suitable for publication or presentation at a professional meeting.
The committee welcomes self submissions and nominations from others for papers written in English or Spanish. The papers must be written solely by graduate student(s) who are enrolled in a graduate program at the time of submission.
This award includes a $300 cash prize per paper. The deadline for submissions is February 15, 2024.
