The Centre for Global Social Policy hosted researchers involved in The Care Economies in Context project on September 21-23, 2022 at the Department of Sociology of the University of Toronto. The meetings included thirty-two in-person and sixteen online participants. Presenters discussed the challenges, opportunities, and next steps of the Care Economies in Context project. On the first two days of the conference, the country teams from Canada, Colombia, South Korea, Sri Lanka, Italy, Mongolia, and Kenya presented reports outlining current knowledge about the care economies in their particular country. We followed the reports with commentary and lively discussions. On the third day of the conference, PhD students presented papers based on their own research related to care economy topics. The country’s team reports and presentations are published below.
