Myra Hamilton Postdoctoral Fellow University of New South Wales

Myra Hamilton (BA (Hons); PhD, Sydney) is a Research Fellow in the Social Policy Research Centre. Her main research interests and subjects of publication are retirement incomes policy, welfare reform, the service needs and experiences of people with caring responsibilities, and the perceptions and management of social risks over the lifecourse. Since commencing work at the Centre in 2008, she has worked on a number of government-commissioned evaluations including the NSW Carers Action Plan Evaluation Framework and the evaluation of the Building Capacity in Community Mental Health, Family Support and Carer Respite Program. She has also worked on projects on the political and social economy of care, child wellbeing, the experiences and service needs of young carers, respite services for carers, and the effects of regular childcare provision on grandparents’ work and retirement decisions
