Gender, Migration, & The Work of Care

#TBT December Student Workshop & Holiday Party

Last December, some members of the Gender, Migration and the Work of Care project in the Toronto area got together.

What a wonderful opportunity it was to read one of Cynthia Cranford‘s working papers. It brought out a lot of good ideas about writing and theorizing migration and employment from a feminist perspective.

To follow, Monica Boyd hosted a lovely holiday party. More talks about gender migration, precarious employment, and what we could and should be doing about it were shared over food and wine.

Thank you, Sabai Sabai, for a delightful dinner! The dessert was amazing!

I’m looking forward to the next Student Workshop, and hope to meet more people of the Gender, Migration and the Work of Care project!
